Media Analysis-Chanel Perfume




Media Language:
The first key convention that tells the audience that this is an advert is the logo Chanel in the top right hand corner.The key image of this advert is a famous actress Keira Knightley.The perfume bottle in her hand shows that this is a perfume advert.The main picture which is the actress is very focused but the background is unfocused.



Institution:
The major institution behind this advert the brand Chanel.Chanel has a reputation for creating perfume as well as Clothes and accessories.Channel Coco Mademoiselle is once of their best products.Chanel is a very successful brand company.Chanel has been one of the best companies in this century.




Audience:
The target audience for this advert is primarily female and teenagers.This is also aimed  at more richer people because Chanel is an expensive brand.However men are also allowed to buy this perfume as a gift.Chanel has been making perfume and accessories for woman mainly but it also has some accessories for men.




Representation:

The stylistic cover design makes it easy to see race or ethnicity but it is notable that the model at the front is a female and there are no men.This is perhaps usual for most perfume which appear to be targeted more at the female audience.
