60 second News (questions and answers)


1) What were the five stories your group chose to broadcast?
Greenford news story:Greenford High School sports day cancelled due to strikes. Due to the teacher strike on July 10th it has to be moved to the 14th of July and has to take place in the school field, instead of Perivale track.


International news story: Palestinian teenager’s body found in Jerusalem. After being kidnaped overnight in East-Jerusalem.
London news story:UK regulator is investigating whether Facebook broke data protection laws when it conducted a psychological study on users without their consent.


Sports news story:In the world cup Belgium beat USA, after extra time to set up quarter final clash with Argentina.
Funny news story:woman gives birth to her child in Birmingham, outside Primark.

2) For each story above, explain WHY you chose that particular story and not something else. Why would it interest a Greenford audience? 
Greenford news story: We chose this story because everyone is talking about it in school and year 9s are upset because their last sports day is ruined.
International news story: We chose this story because the boy was kidnapped before his death and is family wants to find out who killed him.
London news story: We chose this story because Facebook is a worldwide social media and people are wondering if it is safe to go on it after this statement was mentioned in the news.
Sports news story: We chose this story because World Cup is the recent Sports event and people are interested in who will win.
Funny news story: We chose this story because this is quite fascinating and because it is a funny coincidence. 

3) What order did you broadcast the stories in? Why did you place the stories in that order?
The order that we had broadcasted the stories are;

4) How did you make sure the script was the right length?

We made sure that the script was the right length by making sure it had less than 200 words and also my roughly timing how long would it take our presenter to say it.

5) How did you make sure each story was clear and easy to understand?
We made sure that the stories were clear and easy to understand by making the stories short and by using simple language.6) How did you make sure the broadcast was professional?


We made sure that the broadcast was professional by making sure that our presenter introduced himself and also by writing in formal instead of slang.Also we made sure to tell people to watch us later on,like most TV news do.

7) What was your specific role in the group?


My specific role in the group was the Editor,I made sure the script made sense and that the news were correct.

8) Rate your group’s ability to work collaboratively out of 5 (1=poor, 5=excellent)
I think that our groups ability to work collaboratively out of 5 was a 4 because we worked together but some of us hardly spoke in the group so i think that it would of been a 5 if everyone talked the same amount.


 9) How could your group have worked more effectively as a team?

We could of worked more effectively by discussing more and talking about the news.Also by making all of us contribute more.

10) Finally, what would you have done differently if you were given the opportunity to do this again?

If we had a chance to do it again we would of rehearsed the script first and also we would of added more information about the news because we had less than 150 words.

Although this is primarily a TV advert, the extended version would mainly be watched online, . The full three minute advert would not appear on TV (an edited 30 or 60-second version would be used instead) so this extended version would mainly be watched on PCs, laptops, tablets and phones. With a older and female target shows that this advert could be watched mostly on phones or laptops.

This advert would be mainly watched on a TV.However the advert is longer than 60 seconds,so they would play an edited version on the TV.The extended version would be mainly watched on Laptops,Tablets etc.
